Many species present in this biome have developed a specific adaptation that allows them to live in close relationship with trees. Arboreal animals may have adhesive discs on the fingers (anuran amphibians), opposable claws and fingers (woodpeckers and squirrels), prehensile tail (opossum), parachute membranes. They have also worked out special adaptations for overcome the cold season, such as hibernation (mammals) or migration (birds).
