Earth
Earth with a capital E is the planet we live on, the third in the solar system in order of distance from the Sun, from which it is 150 million km away
The Earth was formed about 4.5 billion years ago, along with the other planets of the Solar System, through the aggregation of ice grains and dust. Initially, it was a kind of incandescent sphere at extremely high temperature, in which the heavier elements, such as iron, began to sink towards the centre while the lighter elements remained on the outer part. When the planet started to cool down, large amounts of gas were released, which formed the atmosphere. Considerable amounts of water vapour also accumulated in it and, rising and encountering colder temperatures, condensed into rain that over millions of years formed the oceans. The word earth also refers to the solid and compact part of the Earth's surface that emerges from the waters.
